Is Columbia sportswear a good brand?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I’m a male living in western NY – really cold up here! I have their Columbia Ultimate Interchange Parka and love the design & cut of it. For this winter I’m planning on getting the Columbia Ital Corner Jacket.

What do you think of it? Color & look? [all opinions are appreciated!]

Also, I’ve heard from some people that Columbia isn’t really a good brand, not quality wise but reputation wise. Is this true? Sorry, I’m new in US, so don’t know much about local/national brands.

Yeah, it is an excellent brand of jacket. My winter jacket is actually a Columbia, and it has lasted me since I graduated high school and I still have it to this day. And what the other people told you about Columbia not being a good brand reputation wise may or may not be true, but I personally think that it is a good brand either way. It can be pretty spendy though. I think the average Columbia jacket prices at $50.00 depending on where you look and or where you buy it from.
Hope I helped!!

With severed human feet washing up on shores in British Columbia, where do you think they came from?

Another strange thing is that all the feet have been wearing size 12 tennis shoes, and they are ALL right feet (no lefties).

I saw that article; weird, huh?

I’m just glad I live over 800 miles South and wear a size 13.

M16-13Z Folding Knife Zytel Handle Columbia River

M16-13Z FOLDING KNIFE Zytel Handle Columbia River Instead of aluminum handles, Columbia River uses tough, textured Zytel scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner interframe. It is built for rigidity, using precision machined stainless steel back spacers. The handle is assembled with superior offset Torx fasteners. The handle is slightly heftier and wider than the aluminum build M16, but it is exceptionally rigid. To some people, it actually fills the hand better. Tough AUS 4 high carbon stainless steel is used for the blades to give greater everyday utility. All models feature the Carson Flipper, which is not only an aid to opening the blade, especially when wearing gloves, but acts as a blade guard when the blade is open. The M16-03Z and 13Z are slimmer designs with a spear point blade. They are ideal for a variety of carry positions. Incorporated is the patented Lake And Walker Knife Safety (LAWKS) into all models, which converts these folders into virtual fixed blades when engaged. All styles have Teflon bearings and a removable Teflon plated stainless steel clothing/gear clip. M16-13Z: Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated Cutting Edge – Blade Length: 3.50 inches (8.9 cm) – Thickness: 0.10 inches (0.25 cm) – Steel: AUS 4, 55-57 HRC – Handle length: 4.75 inches (12.1 cm) – Overall length: 8.25 inches (21.0 cm) – Weight: 3.5 oz.
